This is R9 of a strictly limited series of 24 individually numbered tenkara rods, hand-built and hand-signed by master artisan Mario Díaz Ibarra, The Fly Fishing Artisan. Once these 24 are gone, this piece will never be reproduced.

Each rod is a true 1-of-1: the handle, the taper, and above all the case are entirely unique. No two fabric cases in this series are alike — the calligraphy-print case you receive with R9 will never exist again.

At 2.08 meters across just 6 telescopic sections, R9 is the most nimble rod in the entire collection — purpose-built for brushy, overgrown creeks where longer rods simply can’t operate. Closed, it measures 45 cm (17.7 in), easily slipping into a daypack or the side pocket of a backpack for any adventure.
